Things to Do in Toronto in February: Winterlicious to Family Day
February 2027 in Toronto, in date order: Winterlicious, Lunar New Year fireworks, the Black Film Festival, the AutoShow, Family Day and Rhubarb! 48.

February in Toronto is a good month to go out.
Here is the month in date order, with every date taken from the organiser’s own page, or from the Government of Ontario for Family Day, when we checked on October 20, 2026. Dates can shift, so tap through before you head out. For the weeks before, see our guide to things to do in Toronto in January, and for the whole season start with our winter in Toronto guide.
What kicks off the month?
A food festival that starts in January and carries you into the second week of February. The City says Winterlicious 2027 takes place from January 29 to February 11. Its page describes three-course prix fixe menus at more than 200 Toronto restaurants. Restaurants had until August 20 to apply for eligibility. The City says the programs have served more than 8 million meals since 2003.
Our pick is to book early and choose a neighbourhood you do not usually visit. Our Winterlicious guide explains how to book and will track the restaurant list once the City publishes it.
What is on the first weekend?
The 3rd Toronto Lunar New Year Fireworks Celebration takes place on February 5 to 7, 2027 at Nathan Phillips Square. The organiser describes heated pavilions and festivities where robot dancers meet Peking Opera. Musical fireworks are set for 9:00 PM on February 6.
The organiser’s schedule marks the outdoor programme on Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 as free. It also lists Dragon & Lion Dance on Ice shows and a Couture on Ice Fashion Show. We love a firework night that comes with a warm tent. Read more in our Lunar New Year guide.
What is on in mid-February?
Three very different crowds get their moment.
The Toronto Black Film Festival’s website shows February 10 to 15, 2027. Its 14th annual edition ran February 11 to 16, 2026 and was presented as marking Black History Month. The 2027 programme and venues were not posted when we checked, so use the festival site for films and tickets.
The Canadian International AutoShow runs February 12 to 21, 2027 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Tickets go on sale on the organiser’s website starting December 1, 2026. Visitors can reach the North Building from Union Station and mass transit via the Skywalk. That makes it an easy cold-weather outing by transit.
Family Day is next. Ontario’s school calendar lists Monday, February 15, 2027 as Family Day. The AutoShow’s own FAQ names the same date, so the show’s run includes the long weekend. For skating, the City says outdoor artificial ice rinks typically close for the season in March, which makes February a good time to lace up. Our Family Day guide keeps track of what the City announces for the holiday.
What comes after Family Day?
Buddies in Bad Times Theatre lists Rhubarb! 48 for February 17 to 20, 2027. The theatre says Rhubarb! is back for its 48th year as a festival of Live Art. Check the Buddies page for the venue, programme and tickets as they are posted.
How should you plan the month?
A simple plan: book a Winterlicious table early, keep the first weekend for the fireworks, and give the long weekend to whichever indoor outing suits your crew. Then end the month with something you cannot predict.
Send this to the friend who says February is for hibernating.
