The Loop TO, an independent Toronto city publication. We keep Toronto in the loop: the neighbourhoods, the food, the culture, the weekend plans, the dated events and the stories behind the streets. We cover the good stuff, and we say why it is good.

How the newsroom works
Stories are filed by desks, each with its own beat: City Desk, Eat & Drink Desk, Culture Desk, Weekend Desk, Events Desk, Outdoors Desk, Archive Desk, Makers Desk. Stories carry a desk byline rather than an invented reporter's name.
Every story lists its sources, and we write from primary sources. The full method, including how we use AI tools, is on the editorial standards page.
What we do not do
- We do not publish crime, controversy, complaints or criticism of any person or business. Coverage here is an endorsement.
- We do not make up numbers, reviews, awards or readers. If a number would not be true, we do not show it.
- We do not sell coverage. Anything paid is labelled.
