The Newsroom
Eight desks, one city
Every story is filed by a desk with its own beat and its own voice.
The Loop TO is organised into desks, the way a newspaper is. A desk is a beat and a standard, not a person: when a story says "By the Eat & Drink Desk", it was made under that desk's beat and voice, and checked under our editorial standards.
We use desks instead of invented reporter names on purpose. When real contributors join us, they will get real bylines alongside the desks.
