Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2026 Toronto: A First Timer Plan

Every November, the country comes to the city, and this year it moves in at Exhibition Place for ten days.

When is the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in 2026?

The Royal runs from Nov 6 to 15, 2026, at Exhibition Place. It celebrates its 104th anniversary this year. The Fair takes place in the Coca-Cola Coliseum and Enercare Centre, at 100 Princes’ Blvd on the shores of Lake Ontario.

What is a good plan for a first visit?

Here is the plan we would make, and it is opinion, not a rulebook.

1. Start with the animals. The Animal Theatre is in Hall D, where talented dogs and horses show how animals work alongside people. The Fair program lists SuperDogs shows several times a day.
2. Walk the Petting Farm. The Royal Petting Farm and daily sheep shearing demonstrations are part of the Fair. The 2026 Royal Ambassadors, the twin Angora goats Sugar & Spice, can be visited at the Small Animal Pavilion between their special appearances.
3. Eat and shop in the middle of the day. The Harvest Food Market and Royal Champions Showcase are in Hall A along the west wall. The Holiday Market is newly expanded this year.
4. Finish at the Horse Show. It is located in the Coca-Cola Coliseum. Save the evening for it.

What is on, day by day?

These highlights come from the Fair’s own program. For every ring time, use the full schedule on the Fair’s site.

• Every day: the Semex Ring of Excellence in Hall B shows top beef and dairy breeds daily. The Horse Palace, on the west side of the Coliseum, is a good place to meet the draft breeds, ponies and foals.
• Fri, Nov 6: the first evening of the Royal Horse Show includes the Opening Ceremonies.
• Sat, Nov 7: a Chinese Lion Dancing performance celebrating the Year of the Horse is listed for the evening.
• Wed, Nov 11: Mini Chuck Wagon Races join the evening programme as a special feature. They send tiny ponies racing around the Coliseum, pulling mini chuck wagons.
• Thu, Nov 12 to Sun, Nov 15: St. Nick stops by the Holiday Market for photos.
• Sat, Nov 14: the Governor General’s Cup and Lt. Governor’s Cup take place in the Coliseum. The evening includes the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Toronto. The organiser calls it one of the marquee events of the Royal Horse Show.
• Sun, Nov 15: Western Day & The Royal Rodeo, with a star of CBC’s Heartland as guest emcee. The Rodeo Championship is part of the Horse Show programme. On this final Sunday, the Semex Ring of Excellence also transforms for the Rabbit & Cavy Show.

What is there for kids and families?

School of Moo, the Dairy Education Centre, gives children a hands-on look at modern agricultural practices, nutrition and dairy farming. Farmers vs. First Responders sends farmers and first responders head to head on physical obstacle courses. Gay Lea’s Butter Sculpting Showdown, a family-friendly game show, is back too.

Food lovers can look to the daily cooking classes, which run throughout all ten days.

How do you get to the Royal?

The organiser recommends arriving early or using public transit, because parking on the grounds is extremely limited. It also says the GO train drops you right beside Exhibition Place, a short walk to the Fair entrance.
