Nothing says “get out of winter” quite like a lakefront summer, set up indoors in the middle of January.

When is the Toronto International Boat Show in 2027?

The 2027 show runs January 16 to 24. Opening day is Saturday, January 16, and the final day is Sunday, January 24. That gives you two weekends and a full run of weekdays, so you can pick the pace that suits you. Daily hours are posted on the show’s own schedule page, and the organisers note they are subject to change, so check it before you go.

Where is it held?

The show takes place at the Enercare Centre in Exhibition Place, at 100 Princes’ Blvd. Planning more than one winter outing at Exhibition Place? See our Royal Agricultural Winter Fair guide.

How do you get tickets?

Tickets for the 2027 show go on sale in November. You can buy online, or at self-service ticket kiosks on site. Joining the show’s Captain’s Club is free and comes with online ticket discounts, which makes it our pick for anyone planning ahead. Buy through the show’s own ticket page so you are sure of the official listing.

How do you get there?

By GO Transit: take the Lakeshore West train to Exhibition GO and walk about eight minutes to the Enercare Centre. The show says the station drops you a short walk from its Heritage Court entrance.

By TTC: there are three easy routes, all ending at Exhibition Place.

  • From Dufferin Station on the Bloor subway line, take the 29 Dufferin bus south.
  • From Bathurst Station, take the 511 Bathurst streetcar south.
  • From Union Station, take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar towards Exhibition Place.

By car: from the east, the show’s directions send you west on the Gardiner Expressway to Lake Shore Boulevard, and from the west, east on the Gardiner to Lake Shore. Check the Directions page for current parking details before you set out.

How should you plan your first visit?

This part is our suggestion, not the organiser’s. Choose a weekday if you like room to browse, or a weekend if you like the buzz. Wear comfortable shoes and layers, because you will walk a lot between halls. Download the show’s official app, myShowAPP, before you arrive, and decide which boats you most want to see.

Is it worth going if you do not own a boat?

Our take: yes. A boat show is as much about the dream as the purchase, and it is a bright, indoor outing on a grey January day. Walk the aisles for ideas, picture the summer ahead, and treat it like a gallery of things you might one day sail, paddle or cruise. Bring a friend and agree on one boat each to “buy”, just for fun.

Make a morning of it, then reward yourself with something warm. For more winter ideas, browse our events calendar, our winter in Toronto guide and our list of indoor things to do in Toronto in winter.

Send this to the friend who already has a cottage dock picked out.
