You do not need a car to see Toronto, and some of our favourite days out begin at a subway platform or a streetcar stop. This guide collects our transit-first coverage: Little Jamaica, the 501 Queen streetcar, art in TTC stations and the layers of Union Station. Each one tells you where to get on and what to look for when you get off.

We take directions from the institutions themselves. The AGO names St. Patrick on the Yonge-University line as its closest subway stop. The Power Plant says you can reach it from Union Station by the 509 or 510 streetcar to Harbourfront Centre. And if you are landing at Pearson, the City of Toronto says UP Express reaches Union Station in only 28 minutes.

Routes, fares and service change, so each guide points you to the TTC's own pages for the current picture. Tap on, look up and let the city come to you.
